How do I set up an OFTP connection?

You need the following information from your trading partner:

  • Company Name
  • Technical Contact Email/Phone
  • OFTP Software provider name
  • OFTP SFID
  • OFTP SSID
  • OFTP Password
  • OFTP Protocol version, (most will be 2.0)
  • OFTP Certificate
  • EDI ID for testing

Once you have this information, you can set up the connection at your convenience on your ECGrid portal. Creating this OFTP connection allows you to set up a trading partner's OFTP connection to exchange data with you or your customer.

An OFTP connection created for a trading partner will be enabled on the ECGrid OFTP network. You will have visibility into the OFTP configuration and the ability to test the OFTP connection, however, you will not have the ability to edit or update the connection. The connection or certificate can be updated by contacting support@ecgrid.com.

To create an OFTP connection for a trading partner, go to your customer's mailbox, click on TP Connections on the top navigation panel, then OFTP:

You will then be prompted to enter the necessary information through our easy set-up wizard.

What is ECGrid's OFTP Connection information?

ECGrid does connect to various companies through OFTP, however, each OFTP connection on ECGrid is unique, so there is no standard connectivity information. You will be provided with the configuration information necessary to provide to your customer once you set up the trading partner's configuration.
